I have spent a full day on the wetlands of Chongming Island (bird reserve) with Lin Zhang (23/01/2016).

Despite freezing cold weather (-1°C and windy), we have observed a total of 47 species including:

- Hooded cranes (around 70 individuals) observed at 70 meters,

- Common cranes (around 10 individuals) observed at 70 meters,

- Cinereous vulture (2 vagrant individuals observed at 10 meters).

Lin Zhang is a fantastic guide. He speaks a perfect English with all adequate technocal termomology and has a large knowledge of birds and the local environement. He is involved in several associations to promote the birds preservation and local ecosystem preservation to the local public, gouvernemnt and local public entities. He is also a nice person; I had a great time attending the excursion.

I recommend to everyone participating to one of its excursion.
