Misrepresented

Reviewed July 7, 2018

It is your agency, not a private local guide as advertised. The guide that came to pick us up was not Miguel, was Tanya from Norway. She was good, but the tour  is not private she wanted to pickup another couple. Also the tour is built and not customized to what your group may like or not like.

Wouldn't recommend.

More than just a tour guide

Reviewed March 28, 2017

When you tour with Miguel you get so much more than just a guide. My wife and I walked the city of Angra do Heroismo, and drove the full day and half day tours of the island of Terceira. Pick up and delivery to and from our hotel was easy. The tours were well planned with plenty of opportunities for flexibility in the itinerary; this is critical as the weather in the Azores can be unpredictable at times. Miguel shifted stops to ensure that we were able to see the sites under the best conditions. Probably most importantly Miguel makes you feel like you are a close friend while on tour with him. His love of the Azores shows and the insightful little stories really bring the Azores and their history to life. My wife and I still laugh about; “Bulls 1, Spanish 0.”

Never before...

Reviewed January 19, 2016

Never before have I been so impressed with a tour guide. Miguel greeted us as if we were long missing friends and shared his view, thoughts, opinions and secrets about Terceira freely and with great charm. Participating in an umber of tours and expeditions led by Miguel, a tough hike through the Black Misery trail into a volcano, a lunch of a traditional dish, where Miguel moved around the old mill assisting the servers and spreading cheer, a walking tour of the city in a downpour, and even a visit to city hall, where the mayor stopped and greated Miguel by name. His knowledge of tradition, history, and nature was complete, answering questions ranging from dining advice to the complicated economic impact the EU has had on the Azores.

Visit Terceira, tour with Miguel, you shall only regret that your stay is so short.
