If you are lucky enough to have Nesli as your guide, she will open up the Turkish culture and history for you in ways which few others can -- as she has done with me several times. Any guide can regurgitate facts, but Nesli adds her quick wit, charm, and refreshingly honest take on any question you have or site you visit. She's clearly passionate about history and it's contagious (I've tried to stump her a few times but can't). She has a heart of gold and is incredibly sweet (speaking of which, she knows the best Baklava places in town). Finally, she's the perfect balance of being very flexible and professionally keeping the group on schedule. I've been with her to Cappadocia, Istanbul, and Antalya and I recommend her again and again to anyone going to Turkey. Thanks Nesli!

I have had the privilege of having Nesli as a guide on two occasions, once with my wife and the second time when I returned to Istanbul a year later. Nesli is simply fantastic. She knows Istanbul intimately, surely understands its history and culture, knows of sites rarely seen on other tours, and knows wonderful restaurants. And she is fun to be with, making the tour a terrific experience in general. That I would insist on her guidance in two straight years should say something. I am returning in April, 2015, and she will again guide me through the maze of Istanbul's secrets and cool haunts.
