Superb Guide

Jaime is so amazing that I can't stop following him and listening to his talks during our tour. He sure knows a lot of inside history of the Mayans, and other worldly history as well. I see that he is proud of what he does and he has a passion. He draws diagrams on the ground with his hiking pole to explain his talks which was really helpful. During our tour he actively engage us into conversations and make examples using his fellow tourists. For example Jaime found out there's a civil engineer in our group so Jaime ask him questions see if a civil engineer knows how the Mayan structure works by just looking at it. Often, the answer from Jaime surprises us in a compelling way. We were lucky to had him as our guide.

Jaime is EXCELLENT!

Mr. Garcia was our tour guide to Chichen Itza and he was so engaging the entire time he really made our trip a memorable experience. He's right full of historical information about so many topics, Mayan, and otherwise. We liked him so much we wanted him to tour us around to all our other destinations, too. You know a tour guide is a hit when, among over 20 people - over the course of a week - do nothing but compare their tour guides to Jaime. And that's exactly what happened. Each historical place we went to we were fed "touristy" history of the locations, some of which Jaime warned us we'd hear about, and also warned us was incorrect. We would give each other a look, shake our heads, and say "Jaime told us they'd say that..." and "that's not what Jaime said...". He's great. If you're booking an excursion and you're lucky enough to have Jaime Garcia as your tour guide, embrace it and ask him tons of questions, because he knows his stuff. I believe I speak for the group when I say we give him 5 out of 5 stars! (And we can't wait til he visits us up here in the Northeast!) K-

    Chichen Itza for thinkers

    Reviewed April 5, 2014

Jaime was our guide to a tour of Chichen Itza April 3/14. Based on discussions on the drive up from Cancun to Chichen Itza, he seemed to tailor the tour to my husband and I. We both have a great love of history, and we could not have chosen a better guide! Jaime is a PhD in history and taught and guest lectured before becoming a guide. He speaks with knowledge and a passion for his Mayan culture that was clearly communicated to us. As well as being knowledgeable, he was friendly, funny, charming, and engaging. He gave us a tour in a more academic rather than tourist style. He was easily understood, but readily conveyed the depth of his knowledge. He readily answered any questions people in the group had, volunteering anecdotes from his experiences working on the site as an academic. We loved Dr. Jaime and will seek him as a guide every time we come back to Cancun.
