i recently went on the tbilisi city tour bus and met our guide miko. my first thought was how young he was, but i realised that he took his job very seriously and wanted to give us the best information about the city. i was then impressed with his ability to switch between russian and english whilst explaining things to the other people in the group and myself. as a teacher of english and a learner of languages myself, i know this requires a high degree of language skill to be able to do this. as the tour progressed, miko was happy to answer all of our questions and to chat about georgian life in general, something beyond the average tour guide. it was a very hot day and i ended up having a really lovely and interesting time and came back full of information to post on facebook with all the photos i took. i would definitely recommend miko as a tour guide- he obviously loves his job!
