Knowledge, fun, birds and more :)

Reviewed December 18, 2014

I had the great opportunity to spend 3 months with Jack in the bush. We went on many game drives and bush walkes. Jack knows everything about the bush - the names of all the vegetation and animals, their tracks, behavior etc. - and he is the best teacher you can imagine. We always had so much fun together and I can tell that he was very patient with me. Especially when we went out for birding, when he tried to teach me all their names and calls. Birds are a good catchword because with Jack you learn to appreciate all the small things in nature. He shows you that you don't have to see lions or other big animals, even the small ones, which might seem insignificant to you get a big importance. It helps me a lot at home, in germany, where I don't have herds of zebras, giraffes etc in front of my door, but I am delighted by every bird crossing my way. I have to say "Thank you, Jack, for making my stay in africa the best time of my life. I'd always choose you as guide on a safari in the Kalahari or the Okavango Delta."

Jack is a great guy and a great guide. He'll tell you all about the bush, the tracks, and the animals you see. He always got something new and exiting to show you, and he's got an eye of an eagle when it comes to spotting it! You feel like a blind man compared to him out in the bush. At least I do;) He is also great company, a very compassionate and dedicated man. Go for Jack - It's Pumba time! :D

I went for two weeks to Botswana and didn't think I would see so much there. The Gamedrives and Bush Walks with Jake are amazing. He sees so much, that you don't. To be honest when we stopped for the first bird, on the first Gamedrive, I didn't know why, but I started to love these tiny creature and I was happy everytime I saw one. It seems like there isn't a single bird Jack can't name, but it's not just the names, he knows a lot of stuff about them. If your not into birds, no problem, Jack seems to be like a truffle pig when it comes to finding the animal you want to see. I was in Kenya twice before and heared a lot about the animals, but there wasn't a single day, where I didn't learn something new. At the Bush Walks I learned a lot about the trees, bushes and grasses and now I enjoy having those skills. Jack is a really friendly and intelligent guide.
