We couldn’t have asked for a better guide around the area than Geoff. He was so deeply knowledgeable, so fun to talk to, and went the extra mile with absolutely everything. On top of being a fantastic tour guide, he's also a local farmer whose family has been on the land for 8+ generations which gives him a deep insight into the history of the region and Ifugao traditions and practices. We went on a two-day tour with him. The first day he took us on a spectacular hike through some lesser-known rice terraces near Banaue, explaining the process of planting and harvesting the rice plants and giving us incredibly detailed and fascinating information about the area, the people living in it, and pretty much anything we asked him about. He even invited us to his aunt’s wake in his own one-hundred person village  where his extended family had gathered to eat and be together, which was a touching and generous gesture. The next day, we went to the Batad area, the Tapia falls and the Banga-an terraces, all of which were truly stunning. It was a tough hike at times but Geoff was helpful and chipper throughout, giving us breaks when we needed them and taking us to great local places to eat. He seems to know everyone in the area and would often introduce us to locals and tell us their stories. He brought us to his aunt (also an Ifugao elder)'s shop to see her beautiful woven blankets and show us how they are made—naturally we had to buy a couple! In short, our experience with Geoff was perfect in every way and we can’t recommend him highly enough as a guide! Would give him 6 stars if we could.
