I can not say enough about how wonderful it is to work with Gio. Not only was it a true highlight of our trip, but most of our trip might not have even happened without his help. Gio is the hardest worker you'll ever meet and will not sleep until he's sure that you are set up for the best experience in Cuba you can possibly have. I contacted him from the US while I was planning the trip and he helped me to arrange transportation to/from Trinidad, a place to stay, and all our activities. He led us personally when he could, and when he was otherwise booked (we were there over the holidays when it was super busy and someone had gotten to part of his time first!) he personally set us up with excellent guides and still met us in person every day to check in on us. Besides the fact that he made our vacation so easy and enjoyable, one of the things I loved the most was just sitting and talking with Gio - he shared personal experiences with us that helped us to really get a feel for Cuba and the Cuban people, all sides of it. His honesty and warmth was so wonderful that we left feeling like friends. You can't go wrong with anything Gio has to offer -- I recommend asking him about some local experiences off the beaten path of the same old city tour (though of course that is also interesting!). We volunteered at a farm for a day with a local family and it was one of the most special experiences of our trip. Enjoy your time in Trinidad and tell Gio we said hello!

We spent 4 days with Gio in the greater Trinidad area. He helped arrange lodging, dining and provided transportation along with guided tours for our party of 6. Gio was knowledgeable, prompt and very attentive and best of all fun! Not only did we have him as our guide, he is now our friend! We highly recommend Giovanni Guerra!

After my first experience with Gio guiding our son and me I organized a trip with my wife and a college buddy couple.   He was that good.  I felt comfortable intrusting experienced world travelers who wanted to experience Cuba to Gio.  We communcated often prior to our trip so we got to experience Cuba locally, authentically and our way.  We all came away with a feeling of what life in Cuba is really like, the history of where we were and most importantly what daily life is like for normal Cubans.  No scripted or set tour could come close to this real experience.  Through out our stay we had plenty of time for the exploring and discovery while on our own including the funny misadventure which travel stories are made of.  All of this knowledge, experience and insight was delivered as a good friend would.  Overall I easily highly reccomend Gio.
