Making a last minute decision to book a private guide, our hotel was able to arrange one for the next day. 

The next morning Unal greeted us with a warm smile which didn't fade during a cold and very wet January day. After a short discussion about the itinerary, Unal was happy to make changes on our request, and then we were off in a taxi to Hagia Sophia. As Unal introduced the main histories of the various sites we visited, he welcomed and handled all of our questions with an enthusiasm of someone who really loved his job.

We had a specific request for lunch, and Unal escorted us to the restaurant and offered to let us eat alone. However we were happy for him to join us and felt very comfortable sharing a meal  with him. It actualky allowed for a more interesting discussion beyond just tourist information.

Overall, I would recommend Unal as a friendly, warm and knowledgeable guide, as would look him up again if I returned to Istanbul. 

Our booked guide couldn't make the first day of our tour and arranged for Unal to guide us the first day. He was fantastic and we regretted that we didn't have him for all 3 days of our tour.  Next time I would absolutely book him

My husband and I had the great pleasure of having a private tour of Istanbul with Unal. This was definantly a highlight of our Europe tour. Unal was highly educated and very engaging, his knowledge of this city and historical narratives bought the rich history of Turkey alive. Unal was very sociable and made us feel very safe and comfortabe right away. I woud definanlty reccommed seeing Istanbul with Unal as your guide and local friend for the day! 

My husband and I spent 2 days in Istanbul with Unal and he is definitely one of the best guides we have had worldwide. He is knowledgeable about history, culture, architecture, archaeology and life in Turkey today. Even his restaurant recommendations were great. Unal was very easy going and accommodating of our needs and interests. He made us feel like friends, not just clients. I highly recommend him and will do so to our family and friends. When we go back, we will definitely hire him to show us even more about Istanbul.

My daughter (which had a walker) and I did a 2 day Private tour with Unal in Istanbul. Without him we would of not ever seen so much in 2 days. He is awesome and so helpful. We had a great time and wish we could of had him come to Athens with us. Such a great experience. I am a Travel Agent and will recommend Unal to anyone going to Istanbul.
