About me
I traded in my psychology desk, for a wide-brimmed hat after I observed how time spent out-of-doors naturally re-inspired a sense of adventure and enthusiasm in people. I have an Honours Degree in Social Work and Psychology, am currently doing a Masters degree in Environmental Psychology, and have over 20 years of experience in guiding and nature connection all over West and Southern Africa. I'm a qualified lead guide in white water rafting, off-trial Mountain Leader, a Trails Guide in big game environments, and have trained as a Vision Quest guide, facilitating Rites of Passage for young people and adults. I have a passion for singing, playing guitar, traditional medicine, and bushcraft."Adventure happens outdoors. It's the unknown, the unpredictable and it is absolutely vital to the human spirit. Without it, our sense of well-being suffers."Adventure happens outdoors. It's the unknown, the unpredictable and it is absolutely vital to the human spirit. Without it, our sense of well-being suffers. Through spending years living outdoors I've come to see that modern convenience has largely the killed of a sense of adventure. Convenience has disconnected us from ourselves and nature. Modern aversion to challenging and the call for predictability numb our sense of aliveness. Intuitively, we know in our bones that we need to return to nature often, to re-calibrate ourselves, remember our place in relation to all of life and to re-enliven our living".
