Tour Of The UNESCO Heritage Site Of Dalt Vila In Ibiza
Description
Check out this super-interesting tour to the Old Town of Ibiza, called Dalt Vila, inside the best-preserved fortification walls of the Mediterranean Sea, dating back to the XVI century, around 500 years old and in very good state of preservation. That´s why they were declared Unesco World Heritage in1999, together with the included old town, full of history, culture, traditions....I will tell you many anecdotes about the pirates and privateers! An important and strategic city of the Mediterranean area, since the ancient times of the first inhabitants: the Phoenicians, who settled here in the VII century BC. They were great traders and sailors, and were defeated by the romans during the Punic wars. A long history of occupations and invaders, saw as vandals and barbarians wanted to take hold of the precious island, its prosperity and abundance, until the Arabs setteld here in 902 BC holding 300 years of domination, until 1235 AD, when the Catalan catholics performed the Spanish "Reconquista" with the king of Aragon. I will take you to the Cathedral, on the top of the hill, at 600 mts. above sea level, experience breathtaking views of the port and Formentera, see the site of the old castle, see where the museums are located, and pass by beautiful shops, boutiques and art galleries to do some shopping and get local products. There are plenty of surprises and amazing photo opportunities everywhere. You will discover a vast melting pot of civilizations that contributed to the rich history, ancient buildings from the middle ages, architecture and traditions, and wonder how it´s possible that this island is only known for beaches and parties!

- Off season maybe something to cover up in case of wind or sudden rain.
