About Brunei

Brunei is a country rich in many aspects; wildlife, money, history, heritage, and perhaps most pertinently of all, oil – the vast fields of which have made it one of the richest Southeast Asian nations of the modern day.
While the country’s compactness has seen it hailed as the Dubai of east, Brunei is a trifle wilder and more authentic than the nickname suggests. Though its capital may be home to the regal, gold-domed mosque of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin, it’s also where one of the world’s largest floating villages can be found, just west of the Brunei Bay.
Budding ecotourists and nature-lovers will be reminded by their Brunei tour guide that the country is situated on Borneo, one of the oft-hailed centres of wildlife in the world. Consequently the Ulu Temburong National Park, quite rightly called the ‘Green Jewel of Brunei’ is not to be missed. Some of the rarest glimpses of untouched rainforest on the globe, along with seriously breath-taking panoramas, heart stopping, desert-island rope bridges and complete, unadulterated isolation.
