Founded in 1503 by the navigator Américo Vespúcio, located in the Lakes Region, Arraial do Cabo is approximately two and half hours drive from Rio (170 km / 105 miles). Famous for being the largest dive center in Rio de Janeiro and one of the most important in Brazil. Its crystal clear waters offer amazing visibility and a rich marine biodiversity, allowing you to see squids, turtles, groupers, lobsters, seahorses, rays or even dolphins. Ideal for beginners and advanced divers.
Jacques Yves Cousteau, one of the pioneers in diving, was amazed with the calm and transparent waters, perfect for diving.
After a few minutes from harbour by boat, we found great diving spots.
The average water temperature is (20°C / 68ºF). Depth of dives from (6 to 35 m / 19 to 115 ft), depending on area and diver's experience.
