I scheduled a few days of bespoke tours for my wife, mother, and me to experience as much of the Highlands as we could fit in.
Gordon's familiarity and expertise were invaluable when planning the trip. Gordon worked with me beforehand to plan out each day, and he also offered advice on accommodations, Covid testing requirements, and places to eat. Gordon lives in the area and knows it very well.
Each member of my family looks for something different in a tour, and Gordon artfully wove all three wants into each day, ensuring that each of us got something of interest.
Flexibility from a bespoke tour operator is important, and Gordon delivered. The Highlands are large, there is a lot to see, and there can be a lot of driving between each stop. One never knows what will draw one's attention; it was common for the day's plans to change because we enjoyed a particular site more than we expected.
The tours are also a great value for the money. Different options are possible, but we paid for the day on our tour, and Gordon took care of everything else except food. We stayed out as long as we could handle it, often getting dropped off at sundown.
Gordon continually went the extra mile for us. His day didn't end after he dropped us off: Gordon still had to drive home, clean his van of all the mud we tracked in during the day. Gordon listened to our feedback, asked questions throughout the day, and went home to research and adjust the next day's travel based on our feedback. Once Gordon learned that we like a break around 2 PM, he somehow managed to bake that into each day's schedule like clockwork.
Gordon's van was roomy and spotless; he kept it clean and sanitized and wore a mask throughout the day. Big vans are probably not the easiest or cheapest way to get around Scotland, but Gordon is a calm and competent driver, and the accessibility and extra comfort was a nice touch.
Gordon is a knowledgeable, affable and attentive operator who is truly committed to delivering his best to his customers. We very much enjoyed our time with him, and I recommend his business to anyone interested in touring the Highlands.
