Description

Experience two activities in the famous national park of Chobe and get the best of both worlds, in specially-adapted 4X4s and by boat. This is one of those unique opportunities to experience some of the best up-close game viewing Africa has to offer.

Highlights
  • Explore the Chobe National Park, Botswana's first national park
  • Cruise on the Chobe River, that forms the boundary of Chobe National Park
  • Chobe National Park expand_more
    • Reach the Chobe National Park's gate slightly before 06:30 AM to start the day with a half-a-day game drive in the park. This gives a good chance to get close to nature with specially adapted open 4x4 vehicles. Frequent lion sightings occur in Chobe. Eland, Sable, and Roan antelope are common at certain times of the year. Leopards are elusive but common in the area. Drives are typically along the waterfront, where game congregates to quench their thirst, with lions often lying in wait or just dozing in the shade. Complimentary soft drinks are provided throughout the trip while experiencing some of the best game viewings in Africa.

    • Continue the drive with your Africa Safari Guide until you break for lunch around noon. Lunch (served buffet style) will be at the Chobe Safari Lodge (or similar).

    • Relax after lunch.

    • Embark on an afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River. This is a three hours cruise starting at 3:00 PM and ending at 06:00 PM. The cruise offers an opportunity to see a host of waders and water birds along with the ever-present crocodiles and lurking hippos. Chobe is renowned for scores of large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink - most notably Cape buffalo and elephant. On the island, Puku and Lechwe are often seen and on the banks, kudu, impala and waterbuck are common and of course, the African sunset from your boat on the Chobe river. Complimentary soft drinks are included on the boat, as well as tea and coffee and a light snack.

    • Arrive at the Zimbabwe border at 07:00 PM and return to your hotel in Victoria Falls at around 08:00 PM.

My husband and I highly enjoyed our experience with Webster - who organised everything beautifully for us, at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

We hired Webster for the Falls tour and he was excellent.  We started with seeing some of the surrounding area and the Baobab Tree.  The tour went about two hours and Webster knew quite a bit about the history of the Falls, and answered every question we could come up with.   It was very leisurely and fun and ended up with lunch at the Shearwater Cafe.  He also booked a sunset boat tour on the Zambezi for us.  One thing to note was that a lot of businesses in Zimbabwe want American cash rather than credit cards, in addition they want new bills.  We tried to pay a bill at a bar with a 2003 bill and they wouldn't take it.  Their old Zimbabwe money is worthless and they think old American money is worthless as well.
