Shipwrecks of Cape Point

Encounter a number of different habitats at Kirstenboch to encounter as many bird species here at South Africa’s southwest coast. Spot the Cape Sugarbird, Orange breasted Sunbird along with a wide range of seabirds and the African Penguins at Boulders Beach.  

DAY 01

Cape Peninsula

  • Start the day at Kirstenboch Gardens where we will walk and cover a number of different habitats to encounter some of the fynbos and forest species. It includes Cape Sugarbird, Orange breasted Sunbird, Blue mantled Crested Flycatcher and a number of raptors.

  • Then, we head to Strandfontien Sewage Works and watch the aquatic species as well as the seabirds that are frequent in the area.

  • Later, we head towards Cape Point via Boulders beach to see African Penguins and spend time around the Cape Point area focusing on fynbos and mountain species such as Cape Rock Thrush and Mocking Cliff Chat.

  • Return to Kirstenboch Gardens at the end of the day.

  • 1500.00 ZAR Per Person
  • English speaking local bird guide of Cape Town with extensive knowledge of the area. 

  • Transportation.

  • Drinks and snacks. 

  • Meals and entrance fees at selected destinations. 

  •  Remember to bring binoculars, good walking shoes, sunscreen and a hat.
