This is where you let me know if there are any particular areas that you would like to try the wine from.
Below is a list of some Wine Regions you might like to choose from and each region is do-able in a day.
Constantia-This region is where history was made. From the historic guest houses of the, then reigning governor of the Cape, to the production of dessert wines that landed on the tables of Napolean.
Stellenbosch -This region has good mountainous terrain, good rainfall, deep well-drained soils and a diversity of terroirs that makes this a sought-after viticultural area. Thus it produces excellent examples of almost all the noble grape varieties and is known for its blended reds. It's also where the Pinotage grape was discovered.
Franschhoek -This region falls in the valley close to Paarl and is enclosed on three sides by towering mountains. It is also a member of The Délice network of Good Food cities of the world and is regarded as the French corner of the Cape.
Paarl -This region has a high hot temperature just before the harvest, but is also a valley that produces a wide variety of grapes of which Caberet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc have the best potential.
Cape Point -The wines here are caressed by the cool sea breeze, some just a mere kilometer from the sea.
Walker Bay: This region famous for the Hermanus sea side town where the whales arrive every year for mating and birthing is known for the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes and is now also becoming a place to keep track off for their steady quality of the Pinotage grape grown in the region. Interestingly, the soils in this region are weathered shale stroked by the cool ocean climate breeze.
Robertson Wine Valley - "The Valley of wine and roses", has lime-rich soils, high summer temperatures and cool winter winds. Traditionally it is known for white wine territory, specifically Chardonnay, but recently has added Sauvignon Blanc to its reputation. However, it is also known for its exceptional red wines- specifically Cabernet Sauvignon and the Shiraz.
