4 Hours Walking tour itinerary for Cape Town: Choose The Harold Porter Botanical Garden's Hike
Pick a relatively easy 3 to 4 hours hike in this beautiful, secluded botanical garden set between mountain and sea in the heart of the Cape Fynbos region. The route follows the Zig-Zag trail up and along a mountain ridge allowing for scenic views over the gardens, mountains and the coastline.
Harold Porter Botanical Gardens
Meet the tour guide at the entrance to the Harold Botanical Garden at 08:00 am from where you will commence your walk through and up the garden. Wind your way through the lower gardens exploring and enjoying the beauty of this special area.
Eventually, start your slow zig-zag up the mountainside and through the indigenous Fynbos. Continue up the mountainside till you are on the Platberg, which offers spectacular views of the gardens, the sea, and the town of Betty's Bay. Then start your slow ascend up the Zig-Zag Trail while enjoying the fabulous Fynbos and views.
Eventually, arrive at a river stream cascading over the mountain edge and where you will be looking down into the spectacular Leopard's Kloof Gorge.
Eat lunch on the mountain at 12 pm.
Return to vehicles by 3 pm.
