    • 11:00 am: Have tea at the Castle (at own cost) with a Cape Town tour guide. The Castle is a bastion fort built in the 17th century.

    • 11:15: Walk across the town viewing the historical buildings including the Town Hall, where President Nelson Mandela made his first speech as a free man in 1990.

    • 12:00: Visit the Slave Lodge, named under the umbrella theme of, “From human wrongs to human rights”. Built in 1679, it is a South African Museum.

    • 13:30: Have lunch (at own cost)

    • 14:00: Explore Bo-Kaap. Formerly known as the Malay Quarter, it is a colourfully-painted suburb. 

    • 15:30: Drink tea and have some sweet treats in a local home.

    • 16h30: Head back to the hotel.

Know before you go
  • This Tour entails lots of walking so comfortable shoes is recommended. On foot is the best way to explore the city.

  • We visit the Cape Of Good Hope Castle which is the oldest building in South Africa built by the Dutch when they occupied the Cape in the 1600s.

  • We view all the historical buildings on the way as we make our way to the Slave Lodge and end off in the Bo-Kaap (old dutch word meaning upper Cape) where the slave ultimately settled after the emancipation of slavery.
