Outside of the French Quarter the most famous area in the city of new orleans would have to be the Garden Disrict.Originally referred to as The American Sector this is where one will find the austere mansions, shady lanes, and quietude which the French Quarter simply cannot [sensitive content]does not walk this tour, it is more of a stroll, as it takes time to breathe in the fragrance, the granduer and the slow Southern pace of this truly elegent area of the [sensitive content]veral famous and historic personalities have, and do, call this place home. 

DAY 01

Day 1

Meet: at the first Streetcar stop on St. Charles (one block upriver from Canal St.)

Ride: one of the only mobile historic landmarks to the Washington Street in the Garden District.

Walk: to Still Perkin' an amazing coffe shop for coffee, bottled water, snacks and an inaugural bathroom stop.

Walk: to Lafayette Cemetery #1 and learn about its history and our strange methods of "burial." Learn the REAL reason we "bury" above-ground!

Stroll: throughout the languid elegence of masions, movie-sites and homes of the rich and famous.

Rest: In the Irish Channel at a beloved local's bar: ice water at the door, dog-friendly, good beer and great food. THIS is where St. Patrick's day happens!

Return: to the Garden District and witness the splendour and opulence in which these people lived while thousands died to make it so.

Return: to The Rink for a final bathroom and beverage break and discover one of the greatest Independent Book Stores left in this country.
