Enjoy the game drive to trek some rhinos in the sanctuary.

Highlights
  • Go on a rhino trek at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
  • Marvel at the Murchison Falls, considered worlds' most powerful fall
  • Enjoy the boat cruise on the Victoria Nile up to the bottom of Murchison Falls
  • Explore the wildlife and the Big 5 while on the game drive
  • Day 1: Kampala - Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary expand_more
    • Today, early at 6 am (depending on where you spent the night), you will leave your hotel with your driver-guide for Murchison Falls en-route Luwero through Nakasongola to Masindi District (you can decide to have early morning breakfast or carry snacks to eat along the way until you make a stop for lunch).
    • On the way, after about 4 hours of driving, you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking. This is an exciting activity as it gives you a close-up experience with the rhino. It is a safe activity that is done with experienced ranger guides from the sanctuary. It also increases your chances of seeing the big five on this trip. (Rhino trekking takes around 1 hour). The Rhino Sanctuary is the new home for the rhinos in the wild since we don't have rhinos in the parks of Uganda. They were killed during the wars that Uganda experienced post-independence. The rhinos are bred from here with plans of re-introducing them into the parks, specifically Murchison Falls NP.
    • After rhino trekking, you will have a lunch stop at Kabalega dinners.
    • Proceed to your hotel/lodge (accommodation will depend on availability at the time of the trip) through Masindi District to Murchison Falls National Park and do a short game drive.
    • After the game drive, you will drive to your pre-booked lodge late in the evening, where you will be welcomed and checked into your rooms on a full board arrangement for two nights (Bed, Breakfast and dinner arrangement).
    • Before you go to bed, you will discuss the next day's program with your driver-guide.

Total travel time, including the lunch stop and rhino trekking, is 12 hours.

  • Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park expand_more
    • Today, you will have breakfast very early in the morning, around 5:45 am. At 6:15 am, you will set off with your driver-guide for the early morning game drive, which; will last for close to 4 hours.
    • Depending on the day's luck during the game drive, you will likely see elephants, side-striped jackals, hyenas, lions, a leopard, lots of Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, and Jackson's hartebeests, giraffes, Oribis, buffaloes and a variety of big and small birds.
    • After the game drive, around 11:00 am, depending on your arrangement, you will either drive back to the lodge for lunch or go to a chosen lodge or find a suitable place to eat your packed lunch which you should have ordered last night before you went to bed. Your driver-guide will help to organize this during dinner.
    • At exactly 1:30 pm, after your lunch, you will head for the jetty where you will get on a boat for your launch cruise on the Victoria Nile of the world's longest river Nile, where (depending on the day's luck) you will likely see the Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, hippopotamuses and lots of birds and later you will visit the bottom part of the Murchison Falls. The launch cruise lasts approximately 3 hours, starting at 2 pm.
    • At about 5 pm, you will return from the boat cruise. You will find your driver-guide waiting for you to drive you back to your lodge.

Accommodation will still be at the lodge you stayed in the previous night.

During dinner, you will discuss the next day's program with your driver-guide.

  • Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe expand_more
