Description

Hike and explore Mt. Kili to the roof of Africa, Uhuru Peak (5,895m), through the Machame Route, believed to be the most scenic route. You will go through the thick forest, moorlands, alpine descent and to the snow caps of Kili. The great view of Shira Plateaus, Mawenzi Peak and Mt. Meru will excite you throughout the trip!

  • Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp expand_more
    • After breakfast, hike for about 4 hours to Shira camp.
    • Explore the moorland.

    Dinner and overnight.

  • Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp expand_more

    • Have breakfast.

    • Trek to Barranco Camp for about 6 hours through the alpine desert.

    Dinner and overnight.

  • Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Valley Camp expand_more

    • Have an early breakfast.

    • Ascend the Barranco Wall to Karanga Valley for about 4 hours.

    Dinner and overnight.

  • Day 5: Karanga Valley Camp to Barafu Camp expand_more

    • After morning breakfast, ascend to Barafu camp for about 4 hours. 

    • On arrival, rest, have a light dinner and rest up for midnight.

  • Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp expand_more

    • Wake up at midnight, have breakfast, then start your push to Uhuru Peak for about 6 hours.

    • Take photos of the sunrise, then descend down to Barafu Camp.

    • Relax and have lunch.

    • Continue to Mweka camp for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate expand_more

    • Have breakfast in the morning.

    • Descend to Mweka gate, receive certificates and say bye to your mountain team.

    • After boarding the vehicle, transfer to your booked hotel in Moshi or Arusha town for a hot shower.
