PETRA MOUNTAINS TOURS

I have to say our tour was FAB. Our driver, Khalab was very good and took good care of us. We got to see soooo much of your country in such a short time, but would have loved to stay and see more! There is sooo much to see there!

We ran into a co-worker from the ship in Jerash who offered to take us to lunch. After speaking with Khalab though, we were not able to go. Khalab said that our lunch was included and probably thought that he was going to kidnap us! He was very protective which was really nice. He definitely was a great driver and drove us everywhere.

The only real downer was the guide at Petra. We got there at about 3pm and met with him. He really rushed us through. As we got to the center of Petra we decided to split up as 3 wanted to climb and the other 4 wanted to go to the monastery. The guide negotiated prices for the mules for us. When we got to the end of Petra he left us as did the guy he negotiated with leaving us with a teenager and a boy that was probably 6-7 years old to take us to the monastery. After a few steps going up my friend's mule who was in front of me, started to go to the edge by the crevice, slipped and at that point the saddle and my friend fell to the ground. I was the last so my mule saw the other mules up ahead and began to run up the steps to get with them. No one was supervising anything. My mule went off the steps to the left where there were no steps and slipped making me fall off my mule. Fortunately neither of us was hurt but it could have been really bad if my friend had fallen into the crevice and if we had broken anything. We were just bruised and cut a bit.

Other than that we had a wonderful tour and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Many, many thanks for arranging everything and allowing us to see your wonderful country. I would definitely recommend you.
