Description
This real-time, interactive Online Experience will allow you to virtually visit and learn about Rio Downtown (or Centro, as the locals know it). Downtown also happens to be the financial district and historical centre of the city, and is hence teeming with diverse architecture like the colonial Portuguese, French art-deco, and modern skyscrapers.
We will start this live stream from XV Square, the old port of Rio, which was the main entrance for people arriving by sea until the end of the 19th century. There we will see the "Old Cathedral" or the first cathedral of Rio. Move on to the Imperial Palace, the first residence of the Portuguese Royal Family in Brazil where you will hear the story about why why the royals decided to come to live here.
We will then continue our walk and admire some local shops and street food stands while exploring the local culture. The Carioca Square will be our next stop and I will explain why the natives of Rio are called 'Cariocas'! We will visit the New Cathedral of Rio, an amazing construction with a very unusual design before ending our experience at Cinelandia Square, to admire its French architecture and find out why it exists here.

I am fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English and love to share the culture, history, interesting facts about this place and explain to people how living here is different from other parts of Brazil.
