Description
Nanxun is a watertown which lies on the off-beaten track away from the main tourist spots. The town boasts a unique combination of Chinese as well as Western Architecture. It once had a reputation for being the meeting place for the rich. With its gardens, water channels, and Anhui-style residential houses, the town was known to as rich as the Qing government. The best part of the town is the less-crowded south-west where you will see Little Lotus Garden, a grand former residential house with a small lake, and the Jiayetang Library, home to a large collection of ancient tomes and tree-covered grounds. You will find the locals relishing a cup of tea and playing cards.
