Tickets for Casa Batlló: Blue

One of the well-known architectural marvels designed by the master architect Antoni Gaudí is Casa Batlló. Located in the centre of Barcelona, this was built in 1904. Gaudí was asked to build another building in its place, but he decided to renovate this place in his own style. Because of its beautiful imagery, this building is called Casa dels Ossos (House of Bones). This is truly a Gaudí's wonder because of its fanciful features.

Description

Feel the magic of this magnificent building, in striking colours, as you walk through it. You can experience Gaudí's brilliance at every corner of the building, even the rooftop, which is in the shape of a hump, representing the dragon that was slayed by St. George. Such was the genius of Gaudi, that when he was told by the Batlló family, that he has to build another building in place of the apartment building that was there previously, he chose to renovate it instead, and using his creative brilliance, made it one of Catalan architecture's symbolic buildings. This marvellous structure is actually in an undulating shape, but complete with tiny details. The windows look like the jaws or bones of an animal, giving it an animated appearance, There's a wonderful use of space and colour intermingled with thought-provoking notions.
