Description
After getting picked up from your hotel in Cairo, head for an amazing day trip to Alexandria. The first stop on this tour will be Pompay’s Pillar. It was constructed in honor of Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Originally from the temple of the Serapis, it was once a magnificent structure rivaling the Soma and the Caesarean. Next, you will visit the Catacombs, which is the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock. After visiting the Catacombs, you will have lunch at a local restaurant in Alexandria. After having lunch, proceed to visit Qaitbay Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria. Later, you will drive back to Cairo where the tour will end.
