Ferry to Praslin and La Digue expand_more
- Meet the tour guide, who will pick you up from your hotel or accomodation and head to the jetty to catch the ferry to Praslin Island. At the Praslin Jetty, our driver will meet and take you on a tour of Praslin.
- Visit the Vallee De Mai, the heart of Praslin, home to the Coco De Mer Palm and the Black Parrot, also described as the Garden of Eden due to its mystical nature. You will be given a brief explanation of its history and have the chance to take a few souvenir photos before heading out to Anse Lazio. The most famous beach on Praslin and one of the “best in the archipelago” with its fine white sands and gorgeous turquoise water that is so clear you can watch the fish swim around you.
- Catch ferry to La Digue. At La Digue, you meet our host and receive bikes and a description of the island and where to visit. (This is a self-guided tour La Digue is a very small island.) Experience the laid-back atmosphere of island living. Travelling by bicycle or oxcart is the way to go, but if you prefer to walk, it is a good opportunity to truly get the most out of your visit. First, stop to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of our local restaurants, and after you have the rest of the afternoon free to explore the Island.
- Anse Source D'argent (entry fee not included) is one of the most famous beaches of Seychelles. It has a beautiful large beach where you can relax and swim. The water is clear and shallow, perfect for swimming and safe for children. Here there is also a tortoise park where you can feed them.
- L'union Estate is a former coconut and vanilla plantation that is a real insight into La Digue colonial history. . At the end of the coastal road, behind a footpath, begins this park/coconut plantation. The traditional copra mill with an ox complements the culture of the island and offers you the chance to see copra being made. In addition, view the traditional french architecture of the Plantation House.
- Veuve Nature Reserve is the breeding ground of the Seychelles Paradise Flycatcher - a rare and endemic species which immediately catches the eye thanks to its deep blue colour. The striking long black tail of the male also brought about the name "vèv" ( widower) for the species.
- Take your jetty from La Digue back to Mahe. On the Mahe jetty, the driver will pick you up and take you straight to your hotel.
