Cluj to Posaga De Jos expand_more
Start the trip at 8 a.m. with a pickup from your accommodation in Cluj-Napoca.
Travel a distance of 79 km in 1 h and 30 min until you reach Posaga de Sus.
Begin the hike at Posaga de Sus village, followed by a steep path through a beech forest, which leads to an alpine zone with an exquisite sight of the calcareous, white cliffs.
Pass by some abandoned wood hovels, climb the ridge, and reach the highest peak (Scarita) at 1384 m. The views up here are worth it! You could quickly identify the valley of the Aries river, the Trascaului Mountains at the south and the Muntele Mare plateau. The hiking route will be full of wildflowers, which you will identify. So watch where you step not to curl the flowers. The hike's difficulty is medium, with 6 hours of hiking and 600 metres of elevation. No rock climbing is involved, and no special gear is needed.
In the evening, the guide will take you back to your accommodation in Cluj-Napoca.

Basic hiking gear required for a day hike in the summer:
- Hiking boots with adherent sole,"Vibram sole if it is possible" waterproof and preferably with high ankles
- Breathable t-shirt, 1-2-3

- Jacket (waterproof)

- Socks (synthetic or wool)
