There is so much to see in Qatar beyond Doha city. If you want to understand the roots of History and Qatar's culture, you must see what's in the northern part of the country where you can find UNESCO world heritage site, where people being journey for pearl fishing, where people build tents to find in the middle of the desert to find food for the camels. It's not only about history but also nature, wildlife, landscape, and so much.
Highlights
The day will start from Al Khor, located on Qatar's northeast coast, around 60 kilometers from the capital. Al Khor is very famous for a large fishing harbor and fish market. We will pass by two FIFA stadiums.
From Khor to the next town Al Thakira. It is surrounded by shallow seawater, which is allowed to grow mangroves. Al Thakira is also popular for bird watching and an old mosque.
The journey will continue to the other side of the country from north-east to north-west, don't be surprised! Qatar is a small country, and it will take only around one hour to reach from one side to another side of the country.
Zubarais a ruined and ancient fort and old town ( UNESCO world heritage site). In the 18th and 19th centuries, the pearl trade was the main income source in the Gulf region. One of the main centers for this industry was located in Qatar.
After visit Zubara fort and archaeological site time for lunch, we will head to the nearest town, which is shamal, and the northern tip of the country Al Ruwais.
