Sail along the river Maranon and Ucayali where the Amazon River is born, and see the pink dolphins. It lies in the buffer zone of the Pacaya Samiria Reserve, where piranha fishing can be done. Explore other plants and animals found here that includes caiman, different species of birds, monkeys, batrachians, medicinal plants. What else? You can also canoe through the river!

Day 1 : Nauta - Amazon jungle expand_more
At 7:30 am we leave for the town of Nauta, via the highway, in a private car. The ride takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, in which we pass many interesting places, small villages and communities, nature and a bridge going over the river Itaya
From Nauta, we take a 2 - hour boat ride by a ‘peque-peque’ to our lodge. During this journey, we will see the union of the Maranon and Ucayali rivers where we can appreciate the birth of the majestic Amazon River. Here, depending on the season, we can observe the mystical pink dolphins of the Amazon
Next, we pass a small town of Puerto Miguel and on to the union of Yarapa and Cumaceba creeks where our lodge is located
At arrival, we show you to your accommodation and give you a full tour of the lodge
You will enjoy a typical lunch with fruits of the region, according to the season
In the evening, we take a canoe ride on the Cumaceba creek for a chance to observe species of birds, monkeys and the funny and curious sloths
We return to the lodge for a delicious dinner
After dinner, we take a night walk in the Amazon jungle to look for insects, batrachians, spiders, tarantulas and species of frogs

Day 2: In the Amazon Jungle expand_more
After breakfast, we take a walk in the primary jungle for another opportunity to see birds, monkeys and other wildlife like butterflies, termites and leaf-cutter ants
We will also look for medical plants and your guide will explain the importance and different uses of these medicinal plants. For added fun, you can swing on the lianas, climb the roots and branches of the giant trees and drink water stored inside a branch of a tree
At midday, we enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by our excellent cook
In the afternoon, will look and learn about the different food plants of the region, including the tropical fruit called Hutto
After our delicious dinner in the lodge, we take a canoe ride to find the impressive caimans
Depending on our luck, our guide will catch a small-sized Caiman and show you how to hold it safely
You can enjoy holding the reptile for a few minutes before the guide releases it back in the water

Day 3: Loreto Region expand_more
We have an early breakfast before going out on the boat and spending a full day cruising the lakes and creeks, looking for wildlife like monkeys, birds, snakes and sloths
Lunch will be served deep in the jungle before returning to our lodge in the afternoon
After dinner, our guide will demonstrate how to fish with a typical spear of the Loreto Region
We will also learn to identify the sounds of insects and nocturnal birds

Day 4: Adventure in amazon expand_more
After breakfast, our native and bilingual guide of the area will give us a lesson on survival in the Amazon jungle
Those who wish may experience a full-day of camping in tents away from the lodge in the wild jungle. Those who wish to stay the night in the lodge may enjoy other activities like swimming, fishing, paddling on the boat, viewing the Amazon sunset or visiting the town of Puerto Miguel to learn about the customs and traditions of the inhabitants

Day 5: Birds, Fishes and Boating at Amazon expand_more
An early start to the day, we take a canoe ride at 6 am to look for different species of birds and fish for piranhas and other kinds of fish
We return to the lodge for breakfast and later visit a lake to see the great aquatic plant of the Amazon, the giant water lily pads
After lunch at the lodge, we return to Nauta by boat and back to Iquitos by car
