Description

Take on an alternative Inca Trail, a little-explored but very exciting tour that starts at Mollepata town. Cross Salkantay to Santa Teresa and finally to the famous site where the landscape is natural, beautiful with exotic flora and fauna. Explore the historic and world-renowned town of Machu Picchu. Visit the Sun Gate and head towards the mountains of Waynapicchu.

  • Day 1: Soraypampa Trek to Humantay Lake expand_more
    • Leave from Cusco in a private bus of the company and arrive Mollepata.

    • Pass through Anta and Limatambo, and arrive at our destination.

    • Have your breakfast then prepare for the trek.

    • Take transport till the starting point of the trek, from where we will walk approximately 4 hours till we reach Soraypampa. 

    • Break here for lunch following which continue to Humantay Lagoon.

    • Walk back to the camp where tea and dinner will be served. 

    The trek is 12 km and 5 hours approx. duration. 

  • Day 2: Soraypampa to Huayracmachay to Chaullay expand_more
    • Drink a cup of coca tea that will be served in your tent and have breakfast.

    •  Ascent from Soraypampa and reach Salkantay Pass.  If the weather is good, we will see the majestic APU Salkantay, which is one of the most important mountains of the Incan culture.

    • Start the descent to Huayracmachay and stop here briefly for lunch.

    • Continue descending to the community of Chaullay,  where we will spend the second night.

    • Arrive at the point of camping at around 5:00 pm. Here you can take a hot shower (optional with an extra cost of 10 soles).

    • Enjoy tea and subsequently the dinner and rest overnight.

    The trek is 22km and 9 hours (approx) duration. 

  • Day 3: Chaullay to Sahuayaco to Santa Teresa expand_more
    • Start trekking from Chaullay.

    • Pass through the community of Collpapampa and continue our descent through the local vegetation.

    • Cross the thermal waters in a valley near to Santa Teresa river. The area is full of orchid gardens and large waterfalls.

    • Feel a change in the climate as we will go to the area known as the eyebrow of the jungle or the High Jungle.
    • Arrive at Playa Sahuayaco where we will have lunch made by our tour chef.
    • Take local transport until Santa Teresa town, where we will spend the third night.

    •  Visit the thermal baths of Cocalmayo with coordination with the tour guide will (Optional cost approx. 15 soles)

    • Enjoy a campfire and a party at night.

    The trek is 14 km and 5 hours (approx).

  • Day 4: Leave for Aguas Calientes or Machu Pichu town expand_more
    • Register at the Hydroelectric to and get into the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. 

    • Stop here briefly for lunch.

    • Leave for Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu town.

    • Have dinner and discuss the tour details for the next day when we visit the Sacred City of the Incas Machu Picchu.

    • Opt for canopy or rappelling to save the first 3 hours of trekking if you want (Optional - extra cost).

    Trek of 20km and 6-hour duration.

  • Day 5: Explore Machu Picchu town and leave for Cusco expand_more
    • Begin an early ascent towards the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. 

    • Visit the main buildings and temples of this important City.

    • Explore Machu Picchu and marvel at the Sun Gate or the Inca Bridge. Photography enthusiasts can step towards the mountains Waynapicchu or Mountain Machu Picchu (Optional - extra cost) until 4:00 pm.

    • Return to the village of Aguas Calientes.

    • Take the train back to Ollantaytambo. 

    • Depart for Cusco on a bus.

Infrastructure Of The Camps

  • We have camps established in each place of camping: In Soraypampa the tents are armed inside a shelter in order to avoid the cold of our customers. In Chaullay and Santa Teresa, the camping places are spacious and come with open spaces for that passenger can enjoy during your stay in each place small.

Accommodation

  • What we included in the package is a basic hostel in the town of Aguas Calientes. • All rooms with private bathrooms. • Hot shower. • WI-FI Breakfast Snack to carry (Includes juice, a sandwich of cheese, biscuit, and 1 fruit). NOTE: If you want to book your own hotel or works with any specific hotel, let us know so we can coordinate the details.

Support Staff

  • Official Tourism Guide - Certificates in DIRCETUR with a minimum experience of 3 years. Groups larger than 14 people are accompanied by a second guide (group maximum capacity of 18 people). • Cook specialized in the cooking of High Mountain. • Horses to carry all the equipment of camping, kitchen and 5 kilos of things for each passenger - inside the luggage of the passenger will also include the weight of their sleeping bags (ONLY FOR THE 03 FIRST DAYS)
