ENCOUNTER WITH THE GUACAMAYOS
NATIONAL RESERVE OF TAMBOPATA
Your flight to Puerto Maldonado will offer you a panoramic view of the winding Madre de Dios River and the lush canopy of jungle trees that characterizes the southern basin of the Amazon. Visit the Tambopata National Reserve and its impressive biodiversity of wildlife and plants. This protected area still has indigenous tribes that do not communicate with strangers. In the virgin jungle outside of Puerto Maldonado, your private cabin in the charming Eco-Spirit Lodge will be a comfortable refuge that also brings you closer to nature. Enjoy fresh local meals in the restaurant, including guided excursions to places like Collpa Chuncho, where you can see large concentrations of macaws and parrots. Travel by motorboat while watching the sunrise and try to see birds, alligators, capybaras and tapirs on the riverbank. Find unusual insects, incredibly large trees and maybe some monkeys along the shaded trails of the jungle. After your excursions, relax at Eco-Spirit Lodge with a cocktail at the bar while listening to the sounds of the wildlife that surrounds you.
Your adventure in the jungle begins when your official tourist guide Eco-Spirit Lodge receives you at the Puerto Maldonado airport. Your guide will guide you in all activities during the duration of your trip. Enjoy a little relief from the heat in our air-conditioned truck or truck. You'll travel a short way to the office for a brief 10-minute stop to drop off any extra luggage you do not need for a short trip in the jungle. We will stop to pick up your lunches in boxes, then we will go through fields and farms for 90 minutes until we reach the port community of Philadelphia. Then, enjoy a relaxing 20-minute boat ride on the Tambopata River. On the way, you can see local people working along the riverbank.
When you arrive at Eco-Spirit Lodge, your guide will take you to the main house, Casa del Curaca, for check-in. The manager will welcome you with a cold drink made with local fruits and mineral water. After check-in, you will be taken to your private cabin, which is named after a local indigenous tribe, where you can relax and unpack. All meals and drinks at the Eco-Spirit Lodge are made with fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden, as well as other local ingredients.
