Sign up for this Gokyo Valley Trek. In this serene valley, there are abundant pastures for yaks to graze during summer and the pristine turquoise lakes are breathtaking. Gokyo Valley on towards the west of the Khumbu region.

DAY 01

Arrive in Kathmandu Nepal (1345 m) and transfer to the hotel by private vehicle.

  • Welcome to Kathmandu! Upon your arrival, our representative will warmly receive you at the airport and escort you towards your hotel.

  • Meet your trek guide and discuss the itinerary at the hotel.

  • Embark on a short journey towards the nearby town to shop for trek gears, equipment, or accessories in the evening. 

Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 02

Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,800 m) 3-4 hours

  • Eat early breakfast at the hotel, and you’ll drive towards the airport and embark on a short flight to Lukla. The scenic flight lasts almost 35 – 40 min and takes you over the scenic hills of central east Nepal towards Lukla Airport, the gateway of the Everest region.

  • Take a brief layover, and you’ll begin trekking and advance towards Phakding Village located almost 11 km from Lukla.

DAY 03

Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) 5-6 hours

  • Leave Phakding, and you’ll begin trekking along the Dudh Koshi River to reach Monjo. Monjo remains the entry and exit of Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO Heritage Site.

  • Obtain the national park permit at Jorsale, and you’ll begin trekking through the lush forests to reach Namche Bazaar (3440m). Namche Bazaar lies almost 5 – 6 hr from Phakding.

DAY 04

Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

  • Enjoy a rest day, and you’ll spend the time acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar. To make the best out of the day, you can visit the nearby villages of Khumjung and Kunde. Khumjung village boasts the Khumjung Monastery that is home to the supposed Yeti scalp preserved inside a glass box. Afterwards, you can visit Kunde village and explore the Edmund Hillary School, the largest school in the entire region. You’ll trek back to Namche and visit the Hotel Everest View.

DAY 05

Namche Bazar to Phortse Village (3810 m) 5-6 hours

  • Leave Namche Bazaar, and you’ll take a detour and trek through the forested path towards the Phortse village. You’ll encounter numerous uneven terrains on the way. On the way, you’re likely to witness Himalayan pheasants, musk deer, and Himalayan Thar.

  • Begin descending to Kyanjuma and head towards Sansa. From here, you’ll follow the Gokyo trail while enjoying a glimpse of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tawache, and Khumbila mountains. The trail descends to the Dudhkoshi Khola from where you’ll begin trekking towards Phortse through the Rhododendron forests.

DAY 06

Phortse to Machhermo (4,470 m), 5-6 hours

  • Leave Phortse, and the trail passes through rhododendron forests before reaching Dole. We need to walk on the banks of the Dudh Koshi River and climb steep trails to reach Dole. As you climb, you’ll get amazing pictures of Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku mountains.

  • Ascend from Luza village and trek above the Dudh Koshi River to continue reaching towards Machhermo. 

Overnight in Machhermo.

DAY 07

Machhermo to Gokyo (4800 m), 5-6 hours

  • Leave Machhermo, and begin ascending along with the views of Kangtega, Thamserku, and Cho-Oyu Mountains. Just beyond the ridge, the valley widens as the trail reaches Phangnga.

  • Descend to the river bank before climbing up towards the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier.

  • Pass through Longpongo, Raboche Tsho, and Dudh Pokhari before reaching Gokyo village. 

Overnight in Gokyo.

DAY 08

Hike to Gokyo RI (5357 m) and back to Gokyo (4800 m), 5-6 hours

  • Take a short hike towards Gokyo Ri Peak. Gokyo Peak or Gokyo Ri is a small peak located on the western front of the Ngozumpa glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal. Gokyo village lies at the foot of Gokyo Ri.

  • Witness the majestic sights of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu peaks once at top of Gokyo Ri.

  • Begin descending to Gokyo village.

  • Spend the day by learning about the culture and traditions of Gokyo. 

Overnight in Gokyo.

DAY 09

Gokyo to Dole (4200 m), 3-4 hours

  • Leave Gokyo village and Dudh Pokhari behind, and you’ll begin descending along the Dudh Koshi River towards Dole. On the way, you will be blessed by the majestic sights of Cholatse and Taboche peaks.

  • Walk past Machhermo, Luza, and Lhabarma villages en-route to Dole. 

Overnight in Dole.

DAY 10

Dole to Namche (3440m), 5-6 hours

  • Begin descending through a steep trail towards Phortse Thanga from Dole.

  • Walk along the beautiful rhododendron forest on the route to Mong. A short trek from Mong will lead you to Namche Army camp hill. From here, you can enjoy the majestic sight of Lhotse, the tip of Everest, and Tengboche village.

  • Reach Namche Bazaar after indulging in some downhill climbing. 

Overnight in Namche Bazar.

DAY 11

Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2650), 6-7 hours

  • Leave Namche Bazaar, and you’ll begin descending along the banks of Dudh Koshi River.

  • Arrive at the exit of Sagarmatha National Park in Monjo. From here, you’ll trek towards Phakding.

  • Take time off in Phakding and enjoy the delicious lunch here.

  • Embark on a short descent towards Lukla from Phakding.

  • Enjoy the completion of the trek with your colleague and staff once at Lukla. 

Overnight in Lukla.

DAY 12

Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu (1345 m), 35 minutes

  • Bid farewell to the Everest region on this day.

  • Leave Lukla as you catch a flight back to Kathmandu. It may take almost 35 – 40 min to reach Kathmandu.

  • Be escorted back to your hotel once at Kathmandu. You can spend the remainder of the day by doing last-minute shopping in Thamel or catching a quick movie in the city centre.

DAY 13

Transfer to the airport for your onward journey

  • Meet an Ace vision Nepal representative who will drop you off at Tribhuwan International Airport today so you can catch your scheduled flight back home.

  • Leave for the airport approx. 2 hours early. On the way, you can share your trip experience or your next adventure with us.
