Description

This short and easy trek to Langtang Valley is one of the most rewarding treks that offer an opportunity to explore villages, bag small peaks and visit glaciers at a comfortably low elevation climbing through forests of pine, rhododendron and bamboo, ascending through pastures to arrive at the alpine meadows of Kyanjin Gompa (3860m/12665ft) and Tsergo Ri (4984m/16353ft).

We will get the outstanding views of mighty Langtang Lirung (7246m) to the north, Gang Chhenpo (6388m) and the peak of Naya Kangri (5846m) in the south and Dorje Lakpa in the east, just a stone’s throw from the Tibetan border. This area was designated as first Himalayan National Park of Nepal in 1971. On this trek, we will get an opportunity to explore the cultures and traditions of the ethnic group of Tamangs who speak the Tibeto-Burman language and trace their roots back to Tibet, practising a form of Tibetan Buddhism as we pass by series of Tamang villages.
