Get to know how and where Anne Frank lived before going into hiding, and what happened to her after the arrest. Visit the neighbourhood where she lived, played, went to school, and also the place where she was brought when she was captured.
Do a short tram ride to the Anne Frank House.
Visit her home in the south of the city, and we will stand at the exact spots where some famous photos of her, her family and friends were taken. We will share these photos so you can find the precise location and make your own. We will see the homes of the other people in hiding, as well as Miep Gies', the most famous helper. We also will be at sites where terrible Razzia's took place, where Dutch resistance fighters fought back, and where other Jews were hiding.
Go to the German District, at the SD and SS headquarters and some infamous events leaving their mark on Amsterdam forever.
Either before or after your visit to the Anne Frank House, this is the perfect way to put her story into perspective, and learn what the occupation during WW2 in Amsterdam was like.
Transport to or from the Anne Frank House to the main area we will be walking by tram.
Visit the Anne Frank House. Tickets to this museum have to be booked in advance at the museum website. Due to the small size of the museum and its enormous popularity, reservations with a time slot have to be made. 20% of tickets are sold online at 9 am each day.
