1 Day Nature tour itinerary for Amsterdam & Arnhem: Look Back At The Events Of Battle Of Arnhem
Head to the drop zones and HQ of the British Airborne troops in the Battle of Arnhem, including visiting the Airborne Museum, war cemetery, significant sites and of course the John Frost Bridge.
Take a train from Amsterdam to Arnhem where we will arrive at 10:30.
Rent bikes and head towards Oosterbeek, the site where the British paratroopers got trapped between the river and the German troops.
Visit the Airborne Museum and the war cemetery there and walk around the places so significant to those troops.
After lunch, we will cycle to some of the dropping zones and circle back to Arnhem where the main fighting in the first days took place.
Ultimately we will reach the bridge, just like the troops of John Frost who ultimately had to surrender to the German troops. Along the way, we will see many significant places where major battles and events took place during those intense days in September 1944. Accompanied with original photo's to get a real sense of what it was like during that battle.
Entree to Airborne Museum.
Food and drinks.
