Description

Embark on an all encompassing tour around  Antananarivo, Antsirabe, Andasibe, Ranomafana, Ranohira and Ifaty in Madagascar. Get to see age-old canyons, trek by waterfalls, thermal pools and crater lakes, relax by the beach and spot indigenous wildlife such as spotted lemurs, sifakas, tortoise and numerous other species of birds and animals.

  • Day 1: Arrival at the Ivato International airport of Antananarivo expand_more

    • Meet the tour guide at the international airport of Antananarivo.
      Transfer to hotel.

  • Day 2: Antananarivo to Andasibe expand_more

    • After breakfast proceed along the RN2 to the east of Antananarivo.

    • Visit the Pereyras Reptile Reserve to spot the reptiles endemic of Madagascar. 

    • Drive further for 40 km to have lunch in Moramanga.

    • It might be possible to squeeze in a visit to the museum of Gendarmerie; here you will see the original exhibits related to peace & criminal acts committed in the past. 

    • Arrive in Andasibe late in the afternoon and settle in the hotel. 

    • If you so like, you can go for a night walk to spot nocturnal lemurs.

  • Day 3: Andasibe National Park expand_more

    • Have an early breakfast to commence a drive 18 km north of Andasibe.

    • Visit Mantadia National Park to look for the elusive black and white ruffed lemur and diademed sifaka. 

    • Visit the private reserve of Vakona in the afternoon.

  • Day 4: Andasibe to Antsirabe expand_more

    • Leave Andasibe and head on to Antsirabe, located 170 Km South of Antananarivo.

    • Stop at the village of Ambatolampy to visit an aluminium foundry.

    • Continue your journey to Antsirabe.

    • An option to visit the two crater lakes of Andraikiba and Tritriva.

  • Day 5: Antsirabe to Ranomafana expand_more

    • After an early breakfast, enjoy a city tour with rickshaws known locally as 'push push'.

    • Drive to Ranomafana National park and to Ranomafana rainforest. 

    • Stop at Ambositra for lunch. 

    • You will have the option to visit artisan markets.

    • Arrival in Ranomafana in the afternoon. 

    • It will be possible to go for a night walk to spot nocturnal lemurs, chameleons & frogs.

  • Day 6: Exploring Ranomafana expand_more
    • See the eastern ring-tailed mongoose and many species of birds, chameleons in the National Park.
  • Day 7: Ranomafana to Ranohira expand_more

    • Pass through the capital of the Betsileo Tribe, Fianarantsoa. 

    • Head to Ambalavao, which is a very beautiful and quaint town and see the craftsmen and women at work. 

    • Visit the ANJA Park.

    • Take a lunch break.

    • Continue the trip till Ranohira by passing through the no-man land plateaux of Horombe.

    • Arrive at Ranohira by the end of the afternoon. 

    • Possibility to visit the natural rock windows for sunset photos.

  • Day 8: Isalo National Park expand_more

    • Trek through the natural wonders of Isalo National Park which includes canyons, natural swimming pools and waterfalls. 

    • See the 3 kinds of lemurs: Ring-tailed lemur, Brown lemur and the Sifaka.

  • Day 9: Ranohira to lfaty expand_more

    • Head directly to Tulear, which will take around 6 hours by drive. 

    • Stop at the Arboretum of Antsokay to visit this private arboretum reserve.

    • Lunch and transfer to lfaty.

  • Day 10: lfaty beach expand_more

    • Enjoy a relaxing day at Ifaty.

    • You have the option to go scuba diving at Atimoo Plonge. 

    • You also have the option to visit the Reniala private reserve or the Village of tortoises.

  • Day 11: lfaty beach, continued expand_more

    • Another relaxing day in Ifaty.

  • Day 12: lfaty beach, continued expand_more

    • Last day in Ifaty for exploring and by the beach.

  • Day 13: lfaty to Tulear expand_more

    • Transfer to the airport of Tulear, following domestic flight schedule to Antananarivo.

    • Take a flight to Antananarivo and transfer to hotel.
