- Start the city tour by visiting Outa El Hammam with your Chefchaouen tour guide. It is a pretty square, with cafés in upper rooms, making them a great spot to get an overview of the cityscape.
- Stop at Nakhla Dam, halfway to Chefchaouen.
- Dig into the town’s Kasbah of Chefchaouen Museum, a quiet ruin with shaded gardens and a little museum of crafts and old photos.
- Take a stroll on the blue street of the Medina and el Makhzen, the old government square, which is nowadays more of a continuation of the marketplace. It is an elegant clearing with an old fountain and more souvenir stalls.
- Finally, visit Ras el Ma (head of water), where water (tapped for the town’s supply) comes out of the gorge wall in a cascade so clear and cold that, in the local parlance, “it knocks your teeth out if you drink it”.
- Drive back to Tangier at the end of the tour.
