Appreciate the mountains, historical monuments and Berber villages on the back of a camel and see the places where movies like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Alexander were filmed. A Moroccan trip from Merzouga to Fez is just the perfect way to know the Sahara Desert.

DAY 01

Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Banhaddo Kasbah – Ouarzazate city – Roses Valley – Bomalene Dades

  • Pick-up from hotel or airport in Marrakech.

  • Proceed towards the Dades Valley. 

  • Pass through Tizi-Tichka in the High Atlas Mountains, and pause to appreciate the mountain's views. 

  • Then, visit the Ait Banhaddo Kasbah, which is recognized by UNESCO as a world patrimony, famous as a backdrop for many films, including 'Lawrence of Arabia', 'Gladiator', and 'Alexander'. 

  • Have lunch here, before continuing the drive.

  • Enjoy the natural beauty of the landscapes and historical monuments, such as Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate city, and Roses Valley, which is renowned for the Festival of Roses. 

  • Pass through the little Berber villages of Skoura and El Kelaa des M’Gouna’, and the green Dades Valley. 

  • Dinner and overnight in Bomalene Dades (Bed+Dinner+Breakfast).

DAY 02

Bomalene Dades – Todra Gorge – Sahara Desert Merzouga

  • After breakfast, go from Bomalene Dades to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Berber villages are scatted along the way. 

  • Pass through Tinjdad, Jorf, Erfoud, and Rissani to see and feel the beginning of Sahara Oasis of Tafilalt. 

  • Then, continue to Merzouga Desert.

  • After relaxing for a few minutes, prepare to ride on camels for an adventure amidst the sand dunes. 

  • Spend the night in a well-equipped camp with drums and music in the middle of the Sahara Desert. This is a great opportunity to take lovely pictures of the sunset and sunrise. 

  • Next, arrive at the camp, and go to the high dunes to see the sunset.

  • Spend the night in nomad tents (Bed+Dinner+Breakfast).

DAY 03

Merzouga Desert – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes

  • Wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise on the top of the dune in the Sahara Desert. 

  • Then, come back and have breakfast. 

  • Then, ride on a camel to the hotel and take a shower.

  • Depart for Errachidia via Erfoud, Aoufous, and the Valley of Ziz. 

  • Stop for a panoramic view of the oasis Aoufous in the Tafilalt region in continuation to Midelt across the pass of Tizi N’talghamt, where the group will stop for lunch.

  • After lunch, be driven to Fes (the medieval city) via the Cedar forest near Azrou city and the mountain of the middle Atlas with a possibility to see Barbary apes (monkeys).

  • Possible stop in Ifrane (the Switzerland of Morocco) before arriving at Fez. 

  • Drop off at the hotel or airport in Fes.

  • 200 EUR Per Adult
  • Pick up and drop off from/to the hotel, Riad, airport, or destination of choice.

  • Professional driver /guide during the trip.
