Minneriya National Park-Sri Lanka
Go for a historical and cultural tour of Sri Lanka, covering various attractions including waterfalls, cave temples, Sigiriya rock fortress, Horton national park and many more.
DAY 01
Arrival/Sigiriya
Arrival at Colombo Airport, followed by transfer to Sigiriya, a 5th century rock fortress and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Check-in at hotel and rest.
Later, climb the Sigiriya rock, and enjoy the nice and calm climate.
Also, visit the water garden, fountain garden, boulder garden, summerhouse, and caves.
DAY 02
Polonnaruwa/Minneriya
Visit Polonnaruwa archeological site and see its statues, frescoes, stupas, etc.
In the evening, visit Minneriya national Park. See sambar deer, elephants, and leopards among other animals.
After returning from the park, indulge in a traditional Ayurvedic treatment.
DAY 03
Dambulla/Matale/Kandy
After breakfast, proceed to Kandy.
On the way, visit the famous Dambulla cave temple for its frescoes and archaeological importance.
Also, visit the spicy gardens of Matale where various spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and pepper creepers are grown.
Upon arrival in Kandy in the evening, visit the Temple of the tooth, which is said to contain the relic of Buddha's tooth.
DAY 04
Kandy/Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, visit the Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya to see more than 5,000 species of rare plants, trees, and creepers.
Later, go on a train tour to Nuwara Eliya.
DAY 05
Nuwara Eliya/ horton plains
Early in the morning, go on a 9 km walking tour of Horton Plains National Park to see a wide variety of flora and fauna.
Enjoy the cloud forest, see two points of 'World's End', and spend some time near Bakers waterfall.
DAY 06
Horton Plains/Yala
After breakfast, proceed towards Yala National Park. On the way, spend some time at Ravana falls and enjoy its majestic view.
Also, visit the ancient reservoir that was later restored to become Tissa Lake.
Arrive at Yala National Park, and check in at camp or lodge for overnight stay.
DAY 07
Yala/Galle
Go on an early morning safari tour of Yala National Park, which is famous for its herds of elephants, spotted deer, wild buffalo, among other animals.
After the safari, proceed towards the town of Galle.
Upon arrival, visit the lighthouse, stroll around the harbor, or explore the old town to see the works of traditional lace makers and wood carvers.
DAY 08
Galle / Air port
In the morning, visit the heritage site of Dutch fort.
later, proceed to Colombo Airport to catch flight for departure.
