DAY 01

AIRPORT – NEGOMBO

  • Ayubowan (May you live long!). The friendly Sri Lankan driver/guide will welcome you and then you will be transferred to the fishing village of Negombo, located near the airport so you can relax after a long flight journey. Negombo is certainly not just to relax on the beach, but this coastal city has a rich history to share with you.


DAY 02

NEGOMBO

  • After breakfast at the hotel, visit one of the country’s busiest fishing centres, where colourful boats litter the blue waters of the lagoon.

  • Explore the coastal town of Negombo with its colonial period architectures, centuries-old Dutch Canals, and wooden catamarans that are still used by the local fisherman.

  • Enjoy a relaxing late afternoon boat ride through the freshwater canal.

  • Keep your evening time to see the sunset from the beach.

  • Stay overnight in Negombo.

DAY 03

AUKANA – ANURADAPURA - MIHINTHALE

  • After breakfast, head towards for Aukana, the tallest Standing Buddha statue in Sri Lanka.

  • Then transfer towards Cultural Triangle, the ancient city of Anuradhapura which was Sri Lanka’s first city and the capital for more than 100 kings. The ruins of Anuradhapura now a UNESCO World Heritage. The ancient city which is considered sacred by Buddhists contains an enormous collection of archaeological and architectural wonders such as massive dagobas, soaring brick towers, ancient pools and crumbling temples built during the city’s 1000 years of rule over Sri Lanka. One particularly worth visiting is Sri Maha Bodhi.

  • Visit one of Sri Lanka’s most significant religious sites, Mihinthale where Buddhism originated on the island. In 247 BC, King Devanampiya Tissa of Anuradhapura who decided the path of Buddhism for the Sinhalese nation.

  • Stay overnight in Habarana/ Dambulla.

DAY 04

Anuradhapura

  • After breakfast, head towards Cultural Triangle, the ancient city of Anuradhapura which was Sri Lanka’s first city and the capital for more than 100 kings. The ruins of Anuradhapura now a UNESCO World Heritage. The ancient city which is considered sacred by Buddhists contains an enormous collection of archaeological and architectural wonders such as massive dagobas, soaring brick towers, ancient pools and crumbling temples built during the city's 1000 years of rule over Sri Lanka. One particularly worth visiting is Sri Maha Bodhi.

  • Stay overnight in Habarana/ Dambulla.

DAY 05

SIGIRIYA - DAMBULLA – MATALE- KANDY

  • Transfer to Kandy after breakfast.

  • Visit one of Asia’s most spectacular cultural sites the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Only the fit and adventurous will be able to climb the summit, but all can enjoy the ancient ruins and wonderful sights around the base and halfway on the hike. It's home to water gardens, frescoes and ancient graffiti.

  • Then visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, UNESCO World Heritage site and the most impressive cave temple in Sri Lanka.

  • Later, transfer to Kandy. 

  • On the way, visit Matale Aluvihare Temple where Buddhist doctrines were first documented on Ola, leaves on 1st century after passing through orally from generation to generation and visit Spice Garden at Matale.

  • Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site, The Temple of the Tooth Relic.

  • See famous Blue & Star sapphires are mined cut and polished using traditional methods.

  • End the day enjoying a culture show in Kandy.

  • Stay overnight in Kandy.

DAY 06

PINNAWALA - EXPLORE KANDY

  • After a good breakfast at the hotel, visit the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grandbaby elephants born in the same location.

  • Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site, The Temple of the Tooth Relic.

  • See famous Blue & Star sapphires are mined cut and polished using traditional methods.

  • End the day enjoying a culture show in Kandy.

  • It’s also worthy to tour around Kandy, beautiful lake, colourful streets, colonial architecture, museums, and arts and crafts workshop, oriental market place and a bazaar.

  • Stay overnight in Kandy.

DAY 07

NUWARA ELIYA

  • After good breakfast, depart to Nuwara Eliya know as the ‘little England’ for its Victorian-era structures and the mild weather. It’s chilled-out weather and eccentric scenes of tea plantations, waterfalls and mountain ranges. 

  • Visit Tea Factory to see how the tea you drink is produced. It’s worth to visit Local Market and Gregory Lake in the evening. 

  • Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

  • Optional: Scenic Train Ride in the mountains to Nanu Oya.

DAY 08

HORTON PLANS (WORLDS END) – ELLA

  • This morning after breakfast, depart to Horton Plains National Park, a stunning, silent and strange world with some fantastic hikes in the shadows of Sri Lanka’s second and third highest mountains. The plains themselves rich in biodiversity and with a high proportion of locally endemic species. The altitude is 2,100 – 2,300 meters and the park is covered by wild grasslands and combinations of thick forest, rocky outcrops, filigree waterfalls and misty lakes.

  • The main attraction is the point called Worlds End, where you can see the ground drop 880 meters. If lucky enough, you will beat the fog and mist to be able to see jaw-dropping views of miniature tea plantation villages in the valley below, all the way out to the south coast.

  • Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

DAY 09

NUWARA ELIYA – ADAMS PEAK

  • Highly recommend going on a walk through the tea estate and relaxed in the chilled out weather and eccentric scenes of tea plantations, waterfalls and mountain ranges. 

  • Have an early dinner and a short rest in a nearby small hotel before climbing Adam’s Peak, to be on time to view the sunrise.

  • Rest and prepare for the nighttime climb up Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak). Visited by thousands of pilgrims from many faiths, Adam’s Peak is an inspirational experience. The hike up to the peak will take more than 3-4 hours.

DAY 10

ADAMS PEAK – ELLA GAP – TISSA / YALA

  • Adams Peak (Sri Pada), the climb is possible from December to April. Which is over 2000 meters high and the mountain has been a focus for pilgrimage for over 1000 years. The mountain is well known for the Sri Pada sacred footprint of Lord Buddha, a 1.8 meter long rock formation placed near the summit. In the Buddhist tradition, the footprint is thought to be Lord Buddha’s, in Hindu tradition it is for Shiva, and in Muslim and Christian tradition it is thought to be the footprint of Adam. The mountain is also home to a wildlife reserve housing species like elephants, deer and stags as well as many endemic species those live in wetlands.

  • Take a small rest and leave for Yala. 

  • Prepare yourself for a jeep safari following day morning at the most visited and popular park in the country, The Yala National Park. It has a remarkable characteristic of the tropical forest bordering the sea.

  • Stay overnight in Yala/ Thissa.

  • Optional: Spend a night at a campsite in Yala National Park, Full board.

DAY 11

YALA NATIONAL PARK

  • Early morning, prepare yourself for a jeep safari at the most visited and popular park in the country, The Yala National Park. It has a remarkable characteristic of the tropical forest bordering the sea. You have an opportunity to catch the sight of the Sri Lankan Leopard, Asian Elephant, and many other mammals and birds in their natural habitat on a safari and in the wild.

  • Early afternoon, depart to South/West Coast via Galle and stop Koggala along the way to see the unique stilt fishermen.

  • Stop at Galle city, UNESCO World Heritage Site where tiny back streets in the Dutch Fort.

  • Visit the Galle Lighthouse, and enjoy a nice round tour to the Dutch Fort and do some shopping while you are there.

  • Stay overnight in South Coast.

DAY 12

BENTOTA EXCURTAION

  • After breakfast, make a ½ day excursion to Bentota.

  • Go on a boat trip in River Madu to see village life.

  • Visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. It is home to Sri Lanka’s pioneering sea turtle conservation project, operated with the help of international volunteers, mask factory, etc.

  • In the afternoon, relax by the beach.

Overnight stay on the south coast.

DAY 13

BEACH LEISURE

  • After breakfast, a day at leisure by the beach; it is the most popular golden sandy beach on the island. Southwest coast is renowned for its high-end resorts and the beautiful beach strip away from the main roads. Enjoy sunbathing, water sports, beach walks and seafood in your day in leisure.

Overnight stay on the South coast.

DAY 14

BEACH LEISURE

BEACH – AIRPORT

  • Time to say farewell! You will be transferred to the Katunayake International Airport. You can relax in the morning at your hotel, refresh and prepare to leave Sri Lanka.
