Travel around Sri Lankan cities and observe several natural and historic sites. You will visit the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, Royal Botanical Gardens, Nine Arch Bridge, Ella Waterfall, Galle Fort, Independence Square and other iconic places as well.  

DAY 01

airport / dambulla or habarana

  • “Ayubowan” is the traditional way of saying Welcome. You will be given a warm welcome as you come out of the airport by our representative, your very first taste of Sri Lankan hospitality along with a gleaming smile known and famous worldwide. 

  • Start your journey with the transfer to Dambulla / Habarana. 

  • As you arrive at your destination check into the hotel.  

  • Drive to Dambulla Rock Cave Temple in the late afternoon. Dambulla Rock Cave Temple is a World Heritage Site dating back to the 1st Century BC and the best-preserved complex in Sri Lanka covering an area of approximately 2100 sq. meters. The five caves have over 150 Buddha statues and a few statues of Gods and Sri Lankan Kings. The walls are all plastered and painted with intricate religious images mostly of the Buddha.  

  • Return to the hotel. Evening at leisure. 

Dinner and overnight stay at hotel. 

DAY 02

Dambulla or Habarana / Sigiriya / kandy

  • After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Sigiriya. It is a World Heritage Site and according to inscriptions found in the caves the area was a religious retreat as far back as the 3rd Century BC, but came to light in the 5th Century AD after the rebel King made Sigiriya his stronghold and built a palace on top of the 200 meter high massive rock outcrop. The name Sigiriya is derived from the huge lion (Sinha) structure built halfway up the rock (Giriya). 

  • On completion proceed to Kandy.  Kandy is a World Heritage Site and was the last Capital and stronghold of the Sri Lankan Kings until the British took over the whole island in the year 1815. Kandy is one of the most sacred sites for the Buddhists in Sri Lanka and the world over as it houses the Sacred tooth relic of the Buddha, at the temple known as “Dalada Maligawa.” Today Kandy is the Center of Buddhism. Kandy also is popular for Arts and Craft, Sri Lankan Dancing, Music and Culture. 

  • Make a few technical stops at Matale to visit a Spice Garden, Wood Carving Factory and Batik Factory. 

  • Do a city tour of Kandy and drive around the Bogambara (Kandy) lake, upper lake, and the busy streets.

  • Visit the Gem Museum with your Sri Lankan tour guide. 

  • Late evening, witness a Cultural Show featuring the various dance types of the country which will end with a fire-walking performance.

  • Visit the “Dalada Maligawa” on time to witness the Pooja (Ceremony) where you could see the outer most casket of seven which enshrines the Sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. 

  • Check into the hotel and the evening will be at leisure.

DAY 03

Kandy / peradeniya / tea plantation / Nuwara Eliya

  • After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Peradeniya with your Sri Lankan tour guide. 

  • Explore the Royal Botanical Gardens which is of 147 acres in land extent, attracts over 2 million visitors annually and 460 meters above sea level. The garden includes more than 4000 plants from all over the world, extensive well-kept lawns and pavilion. The Cannonball tree planted by King George V and Queen Mary of the United Kingdom in 1901, the Giant Java Fig Tree and the Orchid House is of interest to any visitor to the gardens. 

  • Head to Nuwara Eliya. Known as Little England, it was established in 1846 by Sir Samuel Baker, a hill country retreat for the colonialists and still retain features from the colonial period. The city is overlooked by the tallest mountain (Piduruthalagala) of the island. The city is 1868 meters above sea level and is the most important location for the tea plantations. Lake Gregory was constructed during the period of Governor Sir William Gregory in 1873.   

  • On the way, make a stop at Ramboda to capture the beautiful waterfall and visit a tea plantation. You will be given a tour of the factory to show how the tea is produced and then could taste a pure BOP cup of tea.  

  • Check in to the hotel upon arrival.

  • Do a city tour of Nuwara Eliya and in the evening a walk around the Lake Gregory in the cool climate. 

  • Spend the evening at leisure.  

Dinner and overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya. 

DAY 04

Nuwara eliya / horton plains / tissamaharama

  • Start off early in the morning (5:15 hours) with packed breakfast for the Horton Plains hike. Horton Plains National Park, a protected area in Sri Lanka is 32 km from Nuwara Eliya. The land area covered is over 3100 hectare’s and at an elevation above 2100 meters is a paradise for nature lovers. Though the Sri Lankan Leopard (Panthera Pardus Kotiya) native to the island roams around this area, it is very difficult to spot. The Sambar Deer (Rusa Unicolor Unicolor) sometimes in large herds could be seen. Many endemic birds, some restricted only to the area, Purple Faced Langur, Giant Squirrel are common to encounter. The Bakers Fall and Worlds End are of interest to the visitor. 

  • Make your way to Tissamaharama.

  • Stop at the Nine Arch Bridge and the Ella Waterfall.  

  • Arrive at your destination and check into the hotel. The evening will be at leisure.

DAY 05

Tissamaharama / yala national park / Bentota

  • Start early at 5:15 hours with the packed breakfast to visit the Yala National Park in a safari jeep. Bordering the Indian Ocean, Yala National Park is the most visited and the second largest in the country. The park is best known for its variety of wildlife including the elephant, leopard (Panthera Pardus Kotiya), Sri Lankan Sloth Bear (Melursus Ursinus Inornatus), wild boar, wild buffalo, crocodiles and many bird species.  

  • Return to hotel, and get refreshed and start the journey to Bentota.  

  • On the way, visit the Historical Galle Fort. Galle is another World Heritage Site of the island. Dating back to the 16th Century AD after the Portuguese captured the coastal area built a fort around the port city of Galle. Then the Dutch extensively fortified the fort before the country fell to the hands of the British rule. Galle has been a busy port since the early days trading with Arab countries, China, Greece and other Asian countries. 

  • On completion, proceed to Bentota. Bentota is a coastal town in the South West and is a popular tourist destination and for water sports such as highspeed boat or normal boat rides, scuba diving and if you wish to have some adventure- paramotoring (Optional).  

  • Check into the hotel and the evening will be at leisure. 

Dinner and overnight stay in Bentota. 

DAY 06

Bentota / colombo / departure

  • After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Colombo. 

  • On arrival in Colombo do a city tour.

  • Drive through the hustle and bustle of the Colombo roads.

  • Visit and see the Galle Face Green, Old Parliament, Pettah and Fort Area, Cinnamon Gardens, Independence Square, BMICH, Hindu Temple, Gangarama Temple and other places of the tourist's interest. 

  • Be transferred to the airport on time for your flight with unforgettable memories of this island nation.
