2.30 PM - Visit the local fruit market and discover how velvet tamarind is grown and harvested, and find out how the bitter tropical fruit transforms into a mouth-watering jam.
3.00 PM - Learn about the various species of fruits grown in Sri Lanka. The indigenous people in Sri Lanka grow more than 120 varieties of fruits, especially in the rural areas.
3.30 PM - Explore the surrounding fruit markets. Various types of tropical fruits which were previously unavailable in the urban markets are now being sold at a reasonable price.
4.00 PM - Observe the bright colors and eye-catching shapes of these fruits before buying them. Capture some of the rare and unusual varieties before heading back.
4.30 PM - Learn about Sri Lankan fruits, used for medicinal purposes. Buy some local fruits which can be used for cooking as well. Learn the different ways of cutting, peeling, cracking and eating these fruits.
