AIRPORT / ANURADHAPURA

  • Transfer to the ancient city of Anuradhapura, the first ancient of Sri Lanka's kingdoms. You may spend the day relaxing after a long journey in the hotel and in the evening, sightsee the Anuradhapura ancient city with your Sri Lanka tour guide.

DAY 02

ANURADHAPURA / TRINCOMALEE

    After the hotel breakfast head out to Trincomalee. Trincomalee houses one of the largest natural harbours in the world. Recently it had been a base for the Sri Lankan Army and Navy but now it remains an amazing multicultural town with roots dating back to Marco Polo.

  • En-route visit Thirukoneswaram Temple. The temple lies on a high rocky promontory surrounded on three sides by the sea.

  • Spend the evening at the hotel pool or on the undisturbed, quiet beach.

TRINCOMALEE

    Option: an excursion to Pigeon Island. Named after the Rock Pigeon that colonized the island, it has some of the best coral sites in Sri Lanka. This is the best place for snorkelling.

DAY 04

TRINCOMALEE / PASIKUDAH

  • After the lunch, visit Sigiriya rock fortress, a UNESCO world heritage site adorning a palace on its peak, a must-visit for anyone visiting Sri Lanka.

HABARANA

    Do you like to feel real traditional Sri Lankan village life and taste real Sri Lankan rice and curry? The best option is Hiriwadunna Village tour. DAY 08

SIGIRIYA / KANDY

    After the breakfast head out to Kandy.

  • En-route visit Rock Cave Temple in Dambulla, Ceylon spice garden and Muththumari Amman Temple in Matale.

  • In the evening, spend the time touring around Kandy town including a visit the cultural performance, Kandy Lake and Ceremony in the Temple of Tooth Relic at 6:30 p.m.

KANDY

    After breakfast, visit the Royal Botanical Garden. The garden includes more than 4 000 species of plants, including orchids, species, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka.

  • Thereafter, visit the Gem museum & factory and Wood carving factory. Sri Lanka’s gem industry has a very long and colourful history. Sri Lanka was affectionately known as Ratna-Dweepa which means Gem Island. The name is a reflection of its natural wealth. Marco Polo wrote that the island had the best sapphires, topazes, amethysts, and other gems in the world.

  • In the evening, visit Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha Statue and Kandy viewpoint.

DAY 10

KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA

    After the hotel breakfast head out to Nuwara Eliya. At an altitude of over 1,800m above sea level, the picturesque landscape of Nuwara Eliya is known as “Little England” because of the resemblance of its homesteads to English bungalows, and its cool climate.

  • En-route visit Ramboda waterfall and Tea factory with your local tour guide.

  • In the evening, walk around the beautiful city including Victoria Park.

DAY 11

NUWARA ELIYA / HORTON PLAINS

    In the early morning at 5:30 a.m, head out to Horton Plains on a beautiful, scenic trek. This consists of a visit to Worlds End as well as Bakers Fall.

  • On your way back, visit New Zealand Farm and reach to Nuwara Eliya to have your lunch after a long walking journey.

  • In the evening, you may visit Gregory Lake, Sita Amman Temple as well as Holy Trinity Church which was visited by Queen Elizabeth when she came to Nuwara Eliya during her 1954 official visit to Sri Lanka.

DAY 12

NUWARA ELIYA / YALA

    After breakfast, transfer to Nanuoya Railway Station to have a train ride. This is just an amazing train ride to experience Sri Lanka, because of the incredible views across the southern Sri Lankan hill country as the train passes in and out of numerous mountain tunnels through tea plantations, eucalyptus forests and nearby villages. The low lying clouds add beauty to the scenery.

  • At the end of your train journey, pick up from Ella Railway Station and head out to Yala.

  • En-route visit Nine Arch Bridge and Ravana Water Fall in Ella.

DAY 13

YALA / GALLE

  • Early morning at about 5:30 a.m., visit Yala National Park. Yala is the wildlife for Highest Leopards Density in the world also Sloth Bears, Elephant Herds are roaming naturally & freely with their colleagues of Wild Buffalos, Bores, Deer Species, Sambur Elks, Crocodiles, Monkeys, Foxes, Wild Cat Species, Alligators, Reptiles, Mongoose and many more animals.

  • After the lunch, head out to Galle.

  • En-route visit Mirissa Beach and Slit Fishermen and in the evening, relax on Unawatuna Beach.

DAY 14

GALLE / COLOMBO

    After the breakfast, visit Galle Dutch Fort, a well-known seaport in ancient times as merchant ships anchored here to trade. The famous Fort in Galle was originally built by the Portuguese in 1589 and named Santa Cruz. After the Dutch occupation, it was destroyed and rebuilt on a larger scale to cover an area over 36 hectares. This world Heritage Site is a very interesting place to visit as the old and modern city blend together in perfect harmony.

  • Thereafter, head out to Balapitiya to have a magical boat ride down the beautiful Madu River, a wetland estuary spreading over 900 hectares of which 770 hectares are covered with water and inhabited with 64 islands.

  • After the aquatic experience, transfer to Colombo.

  • En-route visit sea turtle hatchery in Kosgoda to have an experience of life stages of sea turtles and many more.

  • In the evening, have a city walk around Colombo city, which is the capital of Sri Lanka.
