Sensoji Temple

Embark on an extensive private tour to this island nation and explore the ancient Buddhist temples and iconic landmarks. End the tour on an exciting note with some authentic Japanese food.


DAY 01

TOKYO CITY TOUR

  • Arrive in Tokyo.

  • Visit the various attractions of the city including the famous Imperial Palace. It serves as the main residence of the Emperor of Japan and his family.

  • Explore a Japanese garden, in its wholesome oriental bloom.

  • Later in the day, visit the Sensoji Temple, which is the most famous Buddhist temple in Tokyo. It has been associated with the Tendai sect of Buddhism.

  • Overnight stay in the hotel.


 



DAY 02

Kamakura

  • Have breakfast and then take a train to Kamakura, which is a seaside Japanese city just south of Tokyo.

  • Visit the Tokeiji Temple. The temple served as a home for women escaping abusive husbands and mothers-in-law, who could then claim a divorce by staying at the nunnery for a period of time. Hence, it is also known as the Divorce temple.

  • Go to the Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine. It is considered to be the spiritual heart of Kamakura. There are several lotus ponds and arched bridges inside the temple complex.

  • Overnight stay in the hotel.


DAY 03

Nagoya

  • Visit the Nagoya Castle. It features the rich culture and history of Japan, which fascinates both local and foreign tourists. During the Edo period, it was one of the most important castles in Japan.

  • Walk around the Tsumagoi Station Village and visit the cabbage fields in this area. You may also get to see traditional Japanese villages before heading back to the hotel.

  • Return to the city.

DAY 04

KYOTO

  • Go to the Nijo Castle, which is one of the main symbols of Kyoto and a great place for people who love Japanese history.

  • Visit the Ryoanji Temple. It is also known as the Peaceful Dragon Temple and has the tombs of the seven emperors of the Hosokawa clan.

  • Explore Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and Golden Pavilion.


DAY 05

NARA and Osaka

  • Visit the Nara Park, which is one of the oldest parks in Japan. The park is also home to the Nara National Museum.

  • End the tour with a visit to Todai Ji Temple, which is a Buddhist temple complex and was considered as one of the powerful Seven Great Temples located in the city of Nara.

  • Head to Dotonbori Street- the symbol of Osaka.
