Rabbit Island


See and feed the hundreds of friendly bunnies on a tiny island near one of the atomic bomb sites in Japan. Try your hand at making the local-style Okonomiyaki -a Japanese savoury pancake containing a lot of ingredients at a local home on this island.

DAY 01

Rabbit island tour

  • Take a ferry to the rabbit island.

  • Meet more than 700 rabbits and feed few of them with cabbage and carrots.

  • See the remains and a museum of poison gas factory, which was here during WWII.

  • Walk around the entire rabbit island for an hour.

  • Visit a traditional Japanese house and cook Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki. You can also create the original Okonomiyaki by adding more ingredients like Kimchi, Cheese and green onions.

  • Write Kanji with a calligraphy pen on a postcard and take it with you as a keepsake.

  • 60 USD Per Adult
  • All the ingredients (flour, eggs, cabbages, noodles, sliced pork, sauce, bonito, kimchi, cheese and green onions).

  • Japanese Tea.

  • Carrots and cabbages to feed the rabbits.

  • Ferry tickets.

  • Please let me know if you want to try typical Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki or have any dietary requests.

  • You are not allowed to give hugs to the rabbits.

  • The rabbits were brought to the island to test the effects of the poison during WWII, but once the war was over, they were freed by the workers.
