Explore this old seaport town on foot and discover its hills full of temples and literary sites. Try the Japanese ramen at a local food joint and get a temple sealed stamp from the monks of the temples for good luck.

DAY 01

Onomichi temple tour for luck

  • Meet our Hiroshima tour guide at Onomichi railway station and go to Syukaen to eat the Onomichi ramen.

  • Visit the 7 temples in Onomichi for luck. It is considered that visiting all these temples brings you good luck for your future. Each temple has its own meaning- Skill-up, victory, health, success in examinations, good luck, healing and longevity.

  • Collect Gosyuinn, which is red ink stamp (shuin) on the stamp book. The monk will write the name of the temples in calligraphy and stamp the red ink on the stamp book.

  • Enjoy the nostalgic and old views in Onomichi.

  • Go to the Sakura tea shop for matcha and sweets.

  • Write kanji with a calligraphy pen on the postcard and keep it as a souvenir.
