- Meet your tour guide at the Sólheimajökull parking lot. He will hand out glacier gear, crampons, harness, helmet and ice axe. From the parking lot to the base of the glacier is about 20 minutes hike.
- When we get to the base of the glacier, we put on the crampons, and our guide will go over safety on the glacier.
- Start the climb on an easy slope to teach you the basic skills to ice climb. Our goal is to find 3 different locations to climb to give you different levels of the climb. You don't have to know anything about climbing or be super fit to do this tour. This is an introduction tour, so you don't have to be afraid to try this out. Our guides will also show you the wonders of the glacier and tell you the history of the area.
