We are a family of 4 and initially just wanted a private tour around San Cristobal (Sumidero Canyon and Chamula). This worked so well for us and we were so impressed how Alex took care of all logistics and supplied the background information and overall content that we expanded the tour.  We ended up going to Palenque (Tonina and spectacular waterfalls on the way) and then to Yaxchilan and Bonampak, both of which were amazing experiences and we had not even had these sites on our radar before. Alex then saw us off to Guatemala having arranged for our pickup up at the border and further transport in Guatemala. Our time with him was easily the highlight of our 3.5week Mexico/Guatemala trip.

Alex is very knowledgeable in Mayan and Aztec history as well as in Chiapas culture. Being a longtime resident he is also very familiar with current politics and social issues in Mexico which was very valuable information also for the 2 teenagers in our party. It was a pleasure to spend 4 days with him which were filled with  visits to spectacular sites and lots of fun activities. We were also impressed by his organizational skills, everything went super smoothly and we felt 100% safe at all times.  Highly recommended!

We are visiting from Australia and have had the pleasure of Alex showing us San Cristobal and the surrounding areas. 

Alex  has a wonderful knowledge of the country and the area and has made this part of our visit absolutely superb. Nothing has been too much trouble.  Alex and his wife also planned the Itinerary which included a cooking class and visits to indigenous communities. 

We had an excellent trip with Alex. 

He is extremely knowledgeable, organized, punctual,  excellent driver.
